En junio del 2001 los principales accionistas de Monex Institución Cambiaria, adquirieron a CBI Casa de Bolsa, cambiando la denominación social de la misma por MONEX Casa de Bolsa, S.A. de C.V. el día 30 de Noviembre del mismo año. Monex Operadora de Fondos, subsidiaria que se incorpora el 5 de Diciembre del 2001, cuya principal actividad es la administración y operación de los activos de las Sociedades de Inversión de Monex. El 22 de mayo de 2003, Monex obtuvo la autorización de la Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público para constituirse como Monex Grupo Financiero, con capital 100 por ciento mexicano. En septiembre de 2003, Monex traspasa su operación de divisas a Monex Casa de Bolsa, S.A. de C.V. El 15 de agosto del 2006 Monex Grupo Financiero adquiere Comerica Bank México S.A., la subsidiaria bancaria mexicana de Comerica Bank, previa autorización de la Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público, y con ello Monex incursiona en el negocio bancario. En Diciembre del 2007 se traspasa la operación de Cambios de Monex Casa de Bolsa a Banco Monex. Para poder ofrecer oportunidades de inversión en los mercados internacionales Monex Casa de Bolsa tiene una empresa subsidiaria en los Estados Unidos, localizada en Houston, Texas: Monex Securities Inc., autorizada por la Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) y por la Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) en dicho país. Monex cuenta con autorización por parte de Banco de México para la operación de futuros y derivados. Además, está autorizado como formador de mercados en MexDer. Monex Derivados cuenta con un grupo de profesionales especializados en el uso de instrumentos derivados que permiten, a través de contratos de Futuros operados en MexDer, cubrir a las empresas e inversionistas contra riesgos por variación en los precios de divisas, tasas de interés, índices bursátiles e instrumentos accionarios. Monex tiene cobertura nacional por medio de 42 oficinas distribuidas en las principales ciudades del país, y cuenta con la infraestructura tecnológica necesaria para efectuar transacciones a cualquier parte del mundo. With time, we have strongly penetrated into different markets. Monex has a solid positioning by being the country’s main Foreign Exchange Firm. Since its beginning in 1985, Monex Divisas focused its objective on the market of corporate companies with trading needs. Monex Grupo Financiero is made up of three financial entities: Banco Monex (Bank), Monex Casa de Bolsa (Securities Brokerage) and Monex Operadora de Fondos (Mutual Funds), through which the following products are offered: Foreign Exchange Trading, Digital Accounts, Investment Funds, Exchange Market services (Money, Capital and Investment Banking), Trust Funds, Derivatives, International Investing, Letters of Credit, Loans with Pledge of Securities, Export factoring, Financing with Inventory Guarantee and the EXIm Bank Import. On June, 2001, MONEX Institución Cambiaria’s main stockholders acquired CBI Casa de Bolsa and changed its corporate name to MONEX Casa de Bolsa, S.A. de C.V. on November 30th of that same year. Monex Mutual Funds is a subsidiary company, incorporated on December 5th, 2001 and its main purpose is the administration and operation of the assets in Monex’s Mutual Funds. On September 2003, Monex transfers its FX operations to Monex Casa de Bolsa. On May 22, 2003, Monex was given the authorization to become Monex Grupo Financiero by the Mexican Ministry of Finance (Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público), with 100% Mexican capital. Monex Casa de Bolsa began to carry out Exchange Trading operations as a result of Banco de Mexico’s 4/2003 written announcement, in which it authorized to do so. On August 15th, 2006, and with prior authorization from the Ministry of Finance, Monex Grupo Financiero acquires Comerica Bank México S.A., the Mexican banking subsidiary of Comerica Bank. With this transaction, Monex starts in the banking business. In order to offer investment opportunities in international markets, Monex Casa de Bolsa owns a subsidiary in the US: Monex Securities Inc, which is authorized by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of said country and is located in Houston, Texas. Monex holds authorization from Banco de México to operate Futures and Derivatives. Additionally, it is authorized as a market maker in the Mexican Derivative Market. Monex Derivatives counts on the support of a group of specialized professionals that allows them to, through Future contracts operated by MexDer, cover companies and investors against risks resulting from variations in currency, interest rate, stock market and stock instrument prices. On December 2007, Monex transferred FX operations from Monex Brokerage Firm to Bank Monex. Monex has extensive national coverage, with 42 offices distributed in the country’s main cities, and has the necessary technology infrastructure to carry out transactions with any country in the World.
